Warren Smith – President of Sacramento Republic FC – August 22nd
In the future envisioned by Warren Smith, soccer – or futbol, if you prefer – will be a major part of the Sacramento sports scene. The Sacramento Republic FC made its home debut on April 26, 2014 at Hughes Stadium before a sellout crowd of 20,231. That nearly doubled the previous USL Pro regular season attendance record of 10,697. Now Warren Smith, President of Sacramento Republic Football Club, is laying the foundation to bring a Major League Soccer franchise to Sacramento. Smith, who also served as the Executive Vice President of the Sacramento River Cats Triple-A baseball club and led the grassroots efforts to build Raley Field, will join us on Friday, August 22nd to talk about his successful sports ventures and the challenges ahead.
